Wheat Harvest 2011

Wheat harvest is officially over for the year!!! God blessed us with a crop that was better than expected. This was a crazy year. The wheat looked SO amazing in the fall and also in early spring. And then it quit raining. And the wheat that was preparing to be a bumper crop quickly looked crummy. And we braced for a really bad year, but God sent some late rain and it turned out being better than what we thought. God provided yet again!!!

This harvest got off to a slow start - trying to get combines adjusted correctly and just get going. And then it suddenly went really quickly . . . and it was done! But along the way I did remember my camera sometimes and captured a few pictures!

This little guy would constantly say, "I ride the bine-bine!!!!" He loved spending time with his daddy and was having a rough time with him not being home. So we tried to spend quite a bit of time in the combine. He would tell you exactly how things work and is very observant!!

And small hands kept reaching for the wheel, "I drive the bine-bine"

He thinks it is fun to hide from my camera lately, but somehow I caught his cute happy face this time!

Most times I had my camera Addyson was riding in the tractor socializing. Or when both the kids were with me I didn't have time to grab the camera because I was trying to keep them busy!! It sure is hard to sit still!

Who knew eating outside could be so much fun!!! Addyson can make about anything something to laugh about!!

But I think her favorite part was getting to spend time with Grammy every day! And see everyone else too.

Oh, and being independent.
And sitting in wheels.

Oh, and here's proof that I was actually there.

And Ryan was there too. He was usually busy talking on the radio or his phone directing things. And trying really hard to be a good daddy all at the same time. We sure missed him at home - the kids soaked up every minute they had of play time when daddy was home the last couple days.
And now they're busy planting soybeans. Little buddy is sleeping in the tractor right now! Someday maybe he'll be the one holding the radio!!
