Look what we can do!

Addyson and Braden have been doing lots of new things lately!

Addyson has learned to suck her thumb. She is also cooing like crazy the last few days - trying to catch it on vidoe but she quits as soon as I get the camera out :) Braden is showing off his muscles, especially during tummy time. He is getting to be such a strong boy. He is also cooing a lot and starting to have "conversations" where he'll repeat what you do. It is super cute! He also has tons of smiles - unless he is tired he is so happy and fun! He is also really batting at objects above him and has lots of fun with his toys.

Addyson had her weight check on Monday. She had been quite a treat the last week and we were afraid we would have to go in earlier. She basically refused to eat - we had some good fights! Addyson is amazingly stubborn - and so is her mama (I can't imagine where she got it from) so we had lots of time together at feedings because neither of us wanted to give in. She showed us her lungs and let us know what she thought! We finally called the doctor when we tried for 45 minutes at one feeding and she hadn't swallowed a drop. Thankfully the other IUGR baby he is seeing doesn't like change and they suggested that maybe the tiny increase we had made to the amount of MCT oil was bothering her. So we went back to the previous mixture and she was immediately a different baby and now eats fast and is so happy. We are having much more fun since then! She has great smiles.
On Monday Addyson weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and Braden weighed 13 pounds 5 ounces. Addyson does not have another checkup until their normal 6 month checkup!
So they're both doing well and get to be more fun every day!

  1. Hi guys. We haven't let you know often enough, but you are always in our prayers--and your two wee ones, too. How fun to click on your blog and find them growing. Isn't God good? Just know we continue to lift you up, and we love you. Why--you're almost family, you know. :) Bob and julane

  4. Finally got to catch up on the "vogts" today. I moved about 3 weeks ago and it has been challenging to get everything done in one day. I am glad to hear that the kiddies are doing well. And Happy late Anniversary! :) I hope all is well. Take care of one another
