FOUR - a sweet celebration

Our two oldest sweeties turned four on March 3!!! We got to celebrate twice - once on their birthday and the big party was on Saturday, March 9th.

They woke up to birthday streamers on their door - they are always so surprised even though it's tradition to have something on their door!! It is getting tougher to be sneaky and get them up without waking them up though!

We started their birthday out with big chocolate muffins and blowing out birthday candles!!!

And milk out of crazy straws and mason jars is so much more fun!!!

We went to church and had lunch at Freddy's.

Then it was time for naps and presents.

They each got backpacks and matching lunch boxes. Braden got some horses and trucks and Addyson got paper and paint pens. Their favorite things to play with no matter how many they already have.

We had supper and did some more celebrating. And pulled out the blog book and looked at pictures together of the day they were born and their tiny starts in NICU. So thankful for the way they have grown and are continuing to grow!!

And ended the day with blowing out candles on giant cookies!!!

What fun celebrating these two precious gifts. And I was finally well. I wasted a whole week sick with a fever and aches. I spent my own birthday feeling yucky and Addyson informed me that I was not to be sick on her birthday because she wanted to have fun. Got to love her honesty; there is no filter for what comes out of her mouth. Thankfully my fever was gone by Saturday morning so I could celebrate with her. She would have been super bummed if I had ruined her big day - and even more thankfully no one else got it at our house!!!

Saturday night was the big party - lots of family and cousins.

Karina did really well and had fun meeting some of her aunts and uncles and great-grandma for the first time.

And cousin Caden too! They are both figuring out this walking thing and it was fun to see them play together!!

We managed to get a family picture of us and all three kids too!

Addyson has said for months that she wanted a lollipop cake.

You see, her daddy calls her his lollipop. HIS lollipop. She makes sure that no one else calls her this and she will remind you that she is only her DADDY'S lollipop. So we went with a sweet theme.

When I asked Braden what he wanted for a cake he said that he wanted him and his daddy on it - so he got a candy cake with a picture of him and daddy. Daddy, M&M's, and KitKat's - three of his favorite things!

I had fun again with decorations. But apparently forgot to take pictures of a lot of them. Oops!

We so wanted to celebrate Addyson and Braden and give them the spotlight. They have been so understanding and had to share attention with Karina these last few months so I was excited to have a night just for them. Addyson soaked it all in and was so thankful that everyone could come to her party. Braden had fun but the spotlight is not really his favorite spot.

Opening lots of presents - they were so blessed.

And blowing out birthday candles!!!

One cute little boy was caught snitching M & M's from the top of his cake.

Lots of lollipops were had -

There were plenty of sweets to go around as we enjoyed celebrating these sweeties the Lord has blessed us with. Looking forward to another year and praying for wisdom as we teach them, encourage them, and enjoy the moments along the way.
