Yesterday was a busy day!! We had our regular sono at 2:00 in the afternoon and we hoped that everything would be the same, but things had changed. The s/d ratio on Addyson had moved to reverse so it was baby time.
We went to the hospital and checked in and got scheduled for a 5:30 pm C-Section. Everything seemed to be moving really fast but it didn't seem real. God had given us a great peace and we were feeling really confident that He was going to take care of us and our two new babies. "The peace that passes all understanding" was truly real.
Parenthood officially kicked off at 6:09 pm with the birth of our LITTLE girl Addyson McKinley. She weighed 2 lbs. even and measured 13 in. long. She was born with her eyes open and her feet kicking. Next came big brother, at 6:11 pm Braden James was here. He was 3 lbs. 5 oz and 15 in long. He really is the Big brother, who would think a 3 lb. baby could look big!!
Once the babies were stable the nurses gave Christy a quick peek and then they were off to the NICU.
It is now Wednesday morning and Christy is doing great. Addyson and Braden are doing fairly well. Braden has started having difficulty with his breathing but the Nurses called and said that this wasn't that uncommon. The nurse had told us last night that this might happen but it's still not the best news to wake up to.
We are getting ready to go and see the kids in about an hour (9:00 am) It's tough to see them in the NICU with all of the cords and hoses hooked to them but it is also a great comfort and blessing to know that God has gifted some very special people to take care of our babies.
Please continue to pray for Christy's recovery so that she will be able to spend more time with Addyson and Braden. Pray especially for the Kids! They both are in for the long haul here. We are blessed that they made it to 30 weeks but nothing is for sure, except that God is holding Addyson and Braden in His hands and He has a very special plan for their lives.
We hope to have pictures for all of you soon.
