We are so thankful this morning for a great sono tech who made us feel so much more comfortable than our experience yesterday! The s/d ratio looked the same this morning but both babies were much more active and she was able to watch them practice their breathing. Out little boy especially was doing a lot of breathing which is wonderful to see since his lung's seemed to be the biggest concern to the neo-natologist after the babies are born. Since all looked the same - we're home again :)
We're glad to be home and we'll head back to the high risk doctor tomorrow afternoon for another sono. We just feel so much more confident going to our high risk doctor where the only sono's they do are on babies with high risk - they are just so much more experienced and confident at what they're looking for and makes the experience much less stressful for us!

ReplyDeleteReading the events you are facing right now brought back all sorts of memories from the NICU! Ori was born at 33 weeks (4lb. 5 oz) and we spent 15 days in the NICU. During those long days/hours, I was able to learn and observe a lot. We saw a one pounder go home while we were there. So exciting. It took her a few months, but she looked healthy and seemed to be just fine. Several babies back with Ori were 1-2 pounders. It's amazing what they can do for these tiny babies. It's definitely scary and not how you plan for your pregnancy to go. I'm praying for you and your little boy and girl. I'm sure you are experiencing all sorts of emotions and each day seems to bring its ups and downs. I'm rejoicing with you on a good report and will continue to pray, pray, pray.

Every day's a blessing. Have you been in touch with Janice K? She might be able to tell you a bit about the NICU and how it was for her and Baby R.
