Tonight we got to hold Addyson for 15 minutes each with mommy and daddy! She is so precious.
She opened her eyes for both of us but she especially liked it when her daddy sang to her.
Jesus loves Addyson this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves Addyson.
Yes, Jesus loves Addyson.
Yes, Jesus loves Addyson..
The Bible tells me so.
She did great but was pretty worn out so she got bundled back up for more time under the "sun".
Today Braden didn't need light and they lowered the amount of help the ventilator was giving him - but he's having a hard time keeping his oxygen levels where they'd like them. He's easily excitable - the nurses tell us he has a temper but we haven't seen it. We definitely notice that his oxygen levels drop the minute we take our hands off of him. He likes to hold your fingers or anything else in arm's reach like hoses, tubes, etc. He needed his rest - hopefully we can hold him in a couple days when he's more stable.
We are thankful for all your prayers and are reminded that every moment we get to spend with our babies is a blessing. We have met several other families in NICU and are learning their stories - one couple lost one of their twin girls after she was 27 days old. We are reminded that all of our days were numbered before time began and the Lord knows them all.
Praise the Lord! We are so excited that you both got to hold Addyson - so precious! That day will come with Braden too! They are both so cute - their cousins are anxious to meet them. Each of you are going to be great parents! We love you and are praying for you! Please know that we are always here for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for keeping us all updated so often on your blog. You two are amazing and have been blessed with the ultimate gifts from the Lord! Twice!! I'll never forget the night we spent at the shelter and you (Ryan) asked Tracy and I when exactly it is we (i.e. parents) start to refer to each other by calling out "mom/dad" instead of honey, sweetie, or by our actual names – all the names you call each other prior to parenthood.....just wait, it won't be long for the you and Christy now!! We are praying for all four of you for strength, healing, patience, faith...and will continue to keep you close by in thoughts and prayers! I think the babies look bigger in the photos yesterday ;) and I agree with Tami, Braden looks chubby which is AWESOME! But putting the cell phone/diaper photo really shows perspective. So glad you got the opportunity to hold Addyson last night! We are absolutely in ah of the both of you, your amazing faith and trust in the Lord and your beautiful babies and how strong they are and the determination they have…can’t wait to see you’re little man get fired up that has to be a true sign of being a fighter!! May the Lord continue to bless all four of you! Thanks again for sharing on the blog, it's so nice to be updated so often. Hugs and blessings galore to all, Christa J. and family!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting pics - how precious!! I love how positive you are being - it's definitely an encouragement! You're still in our prayers. :)
ReplyDeleteYou truly do have beautiful babies, and what awesome parents you have already become. We continue to pray for your entire family. Parenting is a challenging, but wonderful experience. You just took the shortcut to the key- learning to deal with the unexpected curves that are given and that often the only way to handle the situation is to leave it up to God! May you continue to experience strength and peace in the coming days and weeks.

Congrats on the beautiful babies. I'm so glad you got to hold your little girl. I hope it won't be long till you get to hold your lil man. We have been praying for you and the little ones. I know the Lord will continue to help them to grow strong.

Christy & Ryan,
ReplyDeleteI thank God for your faith and that I met the two (now four!) of you. What an honor it was to be your nurse for your c-section! I will continue to keep you in my prayers, and I look forward to keeping up with you on here and at Wesley. Everything happens for a reason, and I don't think it was a mere coincidence that we were brought together for the births of your daughter & son. Thank you for showering me with sweets! See you very soon.
Jenn
Congratulations! Addyson and Braden are truly miracles from God. These pictures bring back many memories of our granddaughter, Hayli, also born in Wesley and our grandson, Kaiden, born at Ft. Hood then flown to San Antonio. NICU nurses are very special people. Hope every day brings improvement and blessings.

I am rejoicing at how the Lord is using your lives to bless many. I pray constantly for Addyson & Braden's health and growth. I also ask the Lord to quickly bring you, Christy, up to full strength and to meet the unique needs you have as a new mommy. I'm praying that the Lord will encourage both of you as you journey through long days of waiting. Vonnie

We check here several times a day to see new pictures and I cry everytime! I love that you are getting to hold Braden and Addyson already. God is so good! We love you so much and are just so happy to see you being mommy and daddy. Kirsten, Seth and Drew are all glad to see pictures. As I write this they are all "sleeping" in Drew's room in case more storms come through tonight! We already spent 15 minutes in the downstairs bathroom while the sirens blew here in town earlier today. It made me think of the time that Ryan (I think it was Ryan) stayed with me in Winfield and we ended up in our unfinished basement while the storms passed over. We had a mattress to sit on and one propped up over our heads. Kirsten was a baby and we had all her bottles and formula and diaper bag with us. Fun times! We look forward to all the fun times we're going to have with Addyson, Braden and you!
ReplyDeleteMany hugs,
Tami
Wow, Christy, I am amazed by your little babies! I am sure it's such an emotional time for you right now. Avi (my son) had newborn jaundice (born 24 May, 2007) and that alone was rough for me. I will be praying for your new family.
